Press Release: Westcon Group Announces Opening of Warehouse in Reno, NV

Tarrytown, NY, March 6, 2007 – Westcon Group, Inc., the world’s leading specialty distributor in networking, security, mobility and convergence, announced the opening of its new Reno, NV-based warehouse. Through an exclusive carrier arrangement, the 38,000 square foot warehouse provides guaranteed next-day ground service for palletized equipment and packages weighing less than 150 lbs. to most of California.

The new warehouse will also result in reduced freight expenses for Westcon Group’s Western customers who up until now been served by the distributor’s warehouses in Virginia and Canada. Westcon Group will also benefit from increased logistical and operational efficiencies such as reduced inbound freight expenses.

“We have an enormous customer base on the West Coast; we will now be able to serve Western states with a greater level of efficiency,” said Bernie Kelley, vice president, operations, Westcon Group North America. “We plan on gradually ramping up our distribution activities out of our Nevada warehouse and ultimately, we anticipate that a substantial portion of our U.S.-based orders will ship out of that location.”
